Prejudice is one of the most important social problems worldwide. The project has been designed to draw people’s attention to prejudice, especially to prejudice of personality, and to prevent more people from suffering from prejudices. The project consists of two parts: 2D and 3D animation. We have designed 2D animation to show a series of various prejudice to introduce the existence of various prejudice and have designed 3D animation to emphasize prejudice of personality to make people pay more attention to it.
In the 2D animation, to emphasize our theme, our animation explores the visual expression of our narrative with stylistic rendering inspired in the abstract art. With this visual presentation of different viewpoints of our characters, we aim to show that stereotypes can break once one begins to view others without predefined judgment.
In the 3D character animation, we want to represent different kinds of groups of people so we design a human and a little monster as characters. Then we create a plot between them to show the audience the concept of personality prejudice.
We have used the same and highly recognizable elements to connect abstract 2D animation to realistic 3D animation. Using both abstract (2D animation) and realistic (3D animation) methods enables audiences to use their imagination to explore in the abstract, and meanwhile, realize the common specific prejudice of personality in the realistic.
